Cleveland OH: The State Central Committee of the Ohio Green Party is proud to announce the filling of several new positions designed to build on our success in the 2014 election, where over 100,000 Ohioans voted for an alternative to the two party system.
The newly created position of Political Director has been filled by Sean Nestor. Sean, of Toledo, served in the past as Secretary of the State Central Committee as well as serving as the Campaign Manager for the Rios For Governor campaign of last year.
He also has run for public office in Toledo twice before, both times appearing on the ballot as a Green Party candidate for City Council.
Sean's current positions include serving as Co-Chair of the Lucas County Green Party, Executive Committee member of the Single Payer Action Network Ohio, Board President of the Toledo-based Phoenix Earth Food Co-op, and the Campaign Manager of the Sensible Toledo marijuana decriminalization ballot issue, to be voted on this fall.
We believe that Sean's past experience and qualifications will be extremely helpful to us moving forward and welcome his expertise in our future planning.
Several other positions were also created and filled as part of our continuing efforts to provide a challenge to the ruling duopoly, a responsibility we take seriously, as the only ballot qualified minor party in the State of Ohio.
Filling the role of Coordinator of Volunteers is Mark Lause of Cincinnati.
The role of Digital Media Coordinator is being taken on by Philena Farley of Columbus.
The role of Press Secretary is now filled by Phil Mohorich of Cleveland.
The Ohio Green Party State Central Committee wishes to recognize these individuals and we wish them the best as they embark on these new roles within the Party.
