Official Statement by Aaron Dixon on his Exclusion from the televised U.S. Senate
Debates
On October 17, Aaron Dixon, former Seattle Black Panther leader and current Green Party nominee
for U.S. Senate was arrested at the KING-5 television studios upon entering and demanding
that he be included in that station's televised debates.
He has released the following statement:
"The exclusion of the Aaron Dixon for U.S. Senate campaign and other third parties is but a glaring
example of how the two major parties work in cahoots with one another to continue their
vise-like grip on our electoral system.
What are the Democrats, the Republicans and KING-5 afraid of? Why don't they truly push for
publically financed campaign? Why don't they fight for the inclusion of other political
parties and progressive candidates so that we may broaden the debate?
Sadly, it is the American people, particularly the working poor, that are affected the most by
this corrupt two-party system. Our country will never live up to its true purpose until we reform
our electoral process."
