Romanelli Expects to Return to Pa. Ballot in US Senate RaceGreen Party of Pennsylvania Carl Romanelli for U.S. Senate September 27, 2006 Romanelli Still Alive In The Supreme Court Despite Commonwealth Court Decision
September 26, 2006, Wilkes-Barre -- "In response to the Commonwealth Court's written decision to take Mr. Carl Romanelli off the ballot for the U.S. Senate race in PA, Romanelli released the following statement: "Today was a formality, everyone knows that I still have a strong chance of being in this race because we have a strong case in the Supreme Court. This quick decision in a case where we were not allowed to admit evidence to defend the validity of our signatures reeks of partisanship. The Democrats are crying victory but they know that there are no nails in the coffin." Despite the ruling in Commonwealth Court to take Romanelli off the ballot, the setback is only temporary in the mind of Romanelli and the Green Party. Romanelli has already been granted petition to appeal to the Supreme Court and will file briefs on Thursday. The Supreme Court will answer the controlling question of law of whether the 2005 Judicial Retention election or the 2004 General election constitutes "the last preceding election in which State wide candidates were voted for" under 25 P.S. Sec, 2911(b). About Carl Romanelli
